Warnings On GPS AND CELL PHONES

This was forwarded by a friend in my inbox. I decided to post it here as reminder and warning to everyone who might happen to read this post. Some might take the same opportunity if you give them a chance. You might lost all your fortune then. We always see to it that our GPS is always hidden when we got out of the car. We also don't put any information like hubby, mama, papa or any family related names on our cellphones. Don't let these kind of people rob you. Keep reading and be informed. Here is the story;

GPS
A couple of weeks ago a friend told me that someone she knew had their car broken into while they were at a football game. Their car was parked on the green which was adjacent to the football stadium and specially allotted to football fans. Things stolen from the car included a garage door remote control, some money and a GPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard.

When the victims got home, they found that their house had been ransacked and just about everything worth anything had been stolen.

The thieves had used the GPS to guide them to the house. They then used the garage remote control to open the garage door and gain entry to the house. The thieves knew the owners were at the football game, they knew what time the game was scheduled to finish and so they knew how much time they had to clean out the house. It would appear that they had brought a truck to empty the house of its contents.

Something to consider if you have a GPS - don't put your home address in it. Put a nearby address (like a store or gas station) so you can still find your way home if you need to, but no one else would know where you live if your GPS were stolen.

MOBILE PHONES
I never thought of this........

This lady has now changed her habit of how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card, wallet... Etc...was stolen.

20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says 'I received your text asking about our Pin number and I've replied a little while ago.'

When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn. The thief had actually used the stolen cell phone to text 'hubby' in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from their bank account.

Moral of the lesson:
Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list.

Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, Sweetheart, Dad, Mom, etc....

And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked through texts, CONFIRM by calling back..

Also, when you're being text by friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came from them. If you don't reach them, be very careful about going places to meet 'family and friends' who text you.

Does Forgetfulness Has A Cure?

I was just wondering why my car why so noisy as I was driving to a friend today to bring some stuffs. There was some noise that I always hear. I tried to close the automatic front windows with a push of a button but still I can hear the noise. I know the back windows are always closed because I never open them. As I reach my friend's house, I found out that the rear of my car is open. Oh my gosh!! I keep on forgetting things again. I know I put something at the back of my car but I forgot to close it. The other Sunday, the same thing happened. I forgot to close our main door while we went for a sightseeing near our place. Imagine it was the whole afternoon that we are away. The bad thing was that I left the keys in the door. The good thing was, nothing was lost inside the house. See how I forgot things now. I always tried not to forgot things but sometimes it does happen. Can you tell me if forgetfulness has a cure? I have no idea. I will try to search next time why people keep on forgetting things...Maybe next time, I will forget even my name? just kidding guys! have a great Tuesday! Just a reminder, I hope you will avoid such things as forgetfulness..Never do that especially if you live in a critical area..you might lost your fortune!

Beware of Internet Scams/Fraud About yahoo Users Account

I just checked my other email account and I was surprised that most mails in my inbox are spam mails.. Imagine 60 mails and around 70% are spam mails. Another 156 mails directly went to my Spam mails but he others are still not filtered as spam mails. As we all know that there are a lot of frauds and scams that are going on in the internet now. Please beware of these scams. Never ever give you Personal data to them.

Below is just a sample of this spam/fraud mail. Imagine they are using other websites like yahoo to scam and fool you..Be very careful with these kinds of mails..and again NEVER EVER GIVE YOUR PERSONAL DATA!! AND DON'T BE FOOLED WITH THESE SCAMS!! FOR YOUR INFO!!

Subject: Fw: Leptospirosis Disease

This incident happened recently in North Texas . A woman went boating one Sunday taking with her some cans of coke which she put into the refrigerator of the boat. On Monday she was taken to the hospital and placed in ICU. She died on Wednesday.

The autopsy concluded she died of Leptospirosis. This was traced to the can of coke she drank from without using a glass. Tests showed that the can was infected by dried rat urine and hence the disease Leptospirosis.

Rat urine contains toxic and deathly substances. It is highly recommended to thoroughly wash the upper part of soda cans before drinking out of them. The cans are typically stocked in warehouse s and transported straight to the shops without being cleaned.

A study at NYCU showed that the tops of soda cans are more contaminated than public toilets (i.e)... full of germs and bacteria. So wash them with water before putting them to the mouth to avoid any kind of fatal accident.

Thomas Edison was asked to leave school because, at age 9, he was at the bottom of his class. Edgar Allen Poe, Percy Bysshe Shelley and James Whistler all were expelled from school. Grandma Moses wasn't exactly a child prodigy, having achieved all of her fame, success and the development of her talent after age 80. Abraham Lincoln had the equivalent of three months of school and was ridiculed for his appearance. This says that the "experts" or well-meaning other people are misguided in their efforts and just plain wrong in their thinking. Factually, we can measure your intelligence quotient, but not your "desire quotient.

Idleness or Leisure?

My trusty 1828 Noah Webster dictionary says that idleness is "abstinence from labor or employment; the state of doing nothing; aversion to labor; reluctance to be employed or to exertion, either of body or mind; sloth; sluggishness." Idleness is often the effect of laziness, and sometimes, this word may be used for it. Leisure is "freedom from occupation or business; vacant time; time free from employment or convenience of time.

" There are few people today who would disagree with the fact that all of us need some leisure or time for ourselves to relax, enjoy life and literally do nothing. However, we need to explore carefully what the implications of too much leisure or idleness itself might bring. An anonymous writer makes this observation: No one has a right to live in idleness and expect to live long and be happy.

The ship anchored in the harbor rots faster than the ship crossing the ocean. A still pool of water stagnates more rapidly than a running stream. Our unused muscles are subjected to atrophy much more rapidly than those in use. The unused cells in our brains deteriorate much faster than those that are continually exercised.

Hence, to remain young, we must remain active. Insurance statistics clearly reveal that when a person retires, unless he has new activities that will keep him busy doing something of value, that person's life span is shortened substantially, so enjoy some leisure time, but be careful about idleness. It can kill you.

That doesn't mean you have to be busy all the time, but those who are involved in church activities, visit the residents in nursing homes, run errands for shut-ins or baby-sit occasionally for single mothers will be happier, healthier and live longer. So actively make a contribution, and I'll see you at the top!

Cellphone Usage!!

electricity flowed into the cell phone unrestrained and the young man
was thrown to the ground with a heavy thud. His parents rushed to the
room only to find him unconscious, with a weak heartbeat and burnt
fingers.

He was rushed to the nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Cell phones are a very useful modern invention. However, we must be aware
that it can also be an instrument! of death.Never use the cell phone
while it is hooked to the electrical outlet!

Warning on Lottery Scam

I just got this email saying that I won a lottery. Honestly speaking, I don't remember that I enter into lottery promotions with Microsoft..Besides I never hear that Microsoft have a lottery program. I search in snopes.com that this is a Big Fraud or Scam that originated from Nigeria.

I am posting this to let you know that if you receive this kind of email please don't entertain them because this is a big fraud. Otherwise that you really enter into a lottery and you have a receipt with your winning numbers.

I also remember that my sister also encountered this in her email 2 years before. She contacted the email given to her..just like in their letter below, saying that she need to transfer money through Moneygram and the address was in Nigeria when in fact the person she contacted was in UK...

THIS IS SUCH A VERY BIG FRAUD...SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU RECEIVE THIS MESSAGE..IMMEDIATELY MOVE/PUT IT IN IN YOUR SPAM MAILS!!!!
