OMG.. Look What THIS Kid Did to His School After Being Expelled-Spam in Facebook!

Beware of the "OMG.. Look What THIS Kid Did to His School After Being Expelled!" in Facebook. This is a spam! I am just reminding all my facebook friends and all facebookers to be aware of this message that is proliferating now in Facebook. Some of your account might got hacked already.

I received a comment from a friend in my facebook profile that says, "This is realy insane.. you have to see this". Actually it is some sort of a video with entitled, "OMG.. Look What THIS Kid Did to His School After Being Expelled!". I tried to click the video and it opened in another window. After that, it instructed me to press some keys in my keyboard. I forgot to save the instruction but I did not do it because I was doubting that it is a spam/scam again. It might also contain virus which might harm our computer.

If your happened to received such messages, you can try to move your cursor on the right side of the message and you will see the "X" or delete button. You can press "Mark as spam" so that it will be reported as spam in facebook also. See also the screenshot which I posted below.

LASTLY, I AM REMINDING ALL FACEBOOK FRIENDS WHOSE ACCOUNTS WERE HACKED BY THIS VIRUS, YOU BETTER CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY. ..longer password with at least 12 characters combined with letters and numbers are better.

Your Security Software Expires in Two Days

This message has been popping-up in my screen everytime I open my laptop. It says, "Your Security Software Expires in Two Days". I have a three months free Security Software when I bought my new Asus laptop. I guess Trend Micro Internet Security is a good software. I never had a problem with my laptop as I am using this software.

The message that pops-up on my screen also says the following information:

"2340 problems were stopped by Trend Micro Internet Security. The following status of your computer.
-21 viruses and spywares were stopped
-2319 unsafe websites were blocked

You will soon run the risk of exposure to millions of viruses, spyware programs, and unsafe websites. "

I will update my new Security Software anytime today. It is better to avoid computer problems brought by viruses and other threats online.

Advice to Keep Your PC Safe

These are the advice and recommendations from Trend Micro, the internet security I am presently using. It is valid until December 5, 2010 and I am still thinking whether to buy computer security from them. So far, they are doing well. Keep reading below to help your computer safe from those viruses and malwares.

"Following the advice below can help keep you safe when using your computer and the Internet.

Threats from websites

Only submit personal information to secure websites (look for https:// at the start of the address).

Do not click links in email messages; type the website address directly into your web browser instead.

If you see a warning from Trend Micro or your web browser about a suspicious website, then close the window, even if you have visited the site before (some attackers can now temporarily implant malicious code in popular websites).

Do not install software offered by unfamiliar websites, especially if you supposedly need it to open a photo, music, or video file.

Threats from files on this computer

Do not accept or open files from people you do not know.

Avoid using unfamiliar files passed to you on portable drives (like portable flash memory USB drives).

Never open email attachments that came from total strangers, even if forwarded by someone you know and trust."

Cookies, Threats for My PC

Thanks to my internet security, Trend Micro for deleting the 6 cookies which are considered as threats for my computer. This is the advantage of having an internet security in your PC. I was trying to find online what is Cookie Pointroll which is first on the list that was deleted. Here is the explanation below

"Pointroll cookies store information about a PC user's interaction with a specific website. Standard Cookies are not inherently dangerous, but they can be misused and exploited and may allow a distinct and apparently unrelated website to access the same information. If more than one website can access a cookie that has been placed on the user's PC, that cookie poses a security and privacy risk. Tracking cookies can allow vendors to analyze browsing behaviour for marketing purposes."

Cookie Double Click, PC Security Threat

My new notebook has a pre-installed security and anti-virus software. I can use it for free up to three months. It is named Trend Micro Internet Security. Just this afternoon, my PC Security found some risks and threats in my computer. The threat name is cookie doubleclick. The risk is medium and the type is web browser cookie. I guess not all people know about cookies in computer but for sure cookies for eating are very familiar to you.

To my little knowledge, cookies are some sort of data stored in your computer every time you visit a website. Sometimes these cookies can be harmful to your computer because it contain spywares, malwares, worms and viruses. It is always advisable for your PC to have antivirus and internet security.

Thanks to my computer security and anti-virus which automatically detect, fix and delete those harmful cookies and other sort of computer viruses.

Here is the snapshot I made of my PC security report today.

59 Tracking Cookies Attacked My Computer

I am thankful that my computer and two other laptops have anti-virus in it. Today, as I was checking my mails, the Anti-virus program popped-up on my screen telling that there are threats running on my PC. It is also telling me that 59 Tracking cookies are trying to attack my computer. What are tracking cookies? Can this be harmful to our pc's? I will share next time what harm can tracking cookies do to our computers and personal data and information on pc's as well. Here is a screenshot I made in it. Sorry this is in German language. I try to translate it below;

"Norton Antivirus Online hat Bedrohungen erkannt, die Ihre Aufmerksamkeit erfordern"

English translation:
"Norton Antivirus Online has detected threats that needs your attention"

I immediately deleted these threats in my computer.

Trojan Virus in My Computer

I was a bit scared yesterday after finding out that my computer had a Trojan Horse. I was running yesterday my weekly anti-virus scanning and found out that there is Trojan Horse in my computer. Isn't it scary when your computer might crashed or your data and other personal information will be stolen by a certain person whom you do not know called the hacker? I am thankful that I have an anti-virus program in my pc. Tomorrow I will be installing another anti-virus program with firewall in it. Here is an information about Trojan Horse and what damage it might do to your computer.

I also wish to share next time what are the experiences I had before I discover this malware. I mean my experiences while using this computer before knowing that it is infected by this malware. Protect your computer with anti-virus before it is too late.

What is Trojan Horse?

"A Trojan, sometimes referred to as a Trojan horse, is non-self-replicating malware that appears to perform a desirable function for the user but instead facilitates unauthorized access to the user's computer system. The term is derived from the Trojan Horse story in Greek mythology.

Trojan horses are designed to allow a hacker remote access to a target computer system. Once a Trojan horse has been installed on a target computer system, it is possible for a hacker to access it remotely and perform various operations. The operations that a hacker can perform are limited by user privileges on the target computer system and the design of the Trojan horse.

Purpose and operation

Operations that could be performed by a hacker on a target computer system include:

* Use of the machine as part of a botnet (i.e. to perform spamming or to perform Distributed Denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks)
* Data theft (e.g. passwords, credit card information, etc.)
* Installation of software (including other malware)
* Downloading or uploading of files
* Modification or deletion of files
* Keystroke logging
* Viewing the user's screen
* Wasting computer storage space
* Crashing the computer

Trojan horses require interaction with a hacker to fulfill their purpose, though the hacker need not be the individual responsible for distributing the Trojan horse. In fact, it is possible for hackers to scan computers on a network using a port scanner in the hope of finding one with a Trojan horse installed, which the hacker can then use to control the target computer.

A trojan differs from a virus in that only a file specifically designed to carry it can do so.

Warning: Don't Press F1 in your Keyboard, It Might Harm your PC

I was a bit scared now because I am still using a Windows XP Program. I was a bit enlighten because I am using a safer browser Mozilla Firefox. I just read awhile ago regarding a news over the internet warning all users of Windows XP and those who are using Internet Explorer browser. Microsoft confirmed that there is a danger to your computer security because the Hacker used that F1 Help Key to attack your computers.

If you press F1 in your keyboard, there might be a risk that your computer will be attacked by viruses. It is said that users of Windows XP using Internet Explorer browser are vulnerable to such risks. On the other hand, users of Windows 7, Vista, Server 2008 and Server 2008 R2 are on the safer side.

It is also advice that you better use safer internet browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Opera. If ever there are script running or appearing while you are browsing online, it is advice that you better stop it from running. Below is the link of the news where I got it..sorry it is in German language. You might browse it online for its English version.

My Anti-Virus is Off!

I was quite scared yesterday because the anti-virus program in my computer was off! There was a warning that appeared on the screen that my pc might be in danger because the program was not running. I just installed the same anti-virus program in the new netbook that I bought. To my understanding, the anti-virus software that we have can be used for up to three computers in a house. The cost of this anti-virus is already included in the internet connection that we have.

I guess after I installed another anti-virus program in our new netbook, the internet provided just want to verify it. They asked us again to sign-in with our account for verification. After I had undergone some process and instruction yesterday, the software was again active. I guess we all know the importance of anti-virus in our computers., tthat is to protect us from all computer viruses, malwares, spywares and the like!

What If My PC Crash?

What will really happen if your pc crashes. I have a lot of things in my pc. Considering thousands of photos, videos, files, information, programs, etc..I am quite scared if it will totally crash. I hope not. What I did last time was bought a 400 GB external hard drive. I almost have here all my files, photos, videos, etc. that I already backed-up. Imagine thousands of photos from the different countries and cities that I had been too. I just don't want to lose them. I already consider them my fortune. I bought it last January of this year for around 150.00 Euros. I am even planning to buy 1 terabyte (1,000 GB) of external hard drive early next year or probably in January. One of the best thing to do in your pc is simply have an anti-virus software to protect it from spywares, malwares or any other forms of viruses. this is juts an info for you! Happy new year!!

FRIENDSTER VIRUS ALERT

This is follow-up of what I just posted here about NOT GOOD SITES...PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS SITES!! here is the message from one of my friends about these sites that are being forwarded or sent to your comment box....I am reposting this here for you to be aware of it!!!

You probably got a message from one of your friend saying you'd been filmed and there's a web link that you tried opening but can't get through. Well, by doing that you're not only posting an automatic message to some of your friends but risking your computer for potential virus too....
So be aware of this messages and try to ignore or delete them. They say that the people who's doing this are from the Canafa and their mimicking Youtube's URL web page.

Right now their posting automatic comments with the video of a sexy girl and if you tried opening it you'll post the exact same comment to some of your random friends...
In addition, if you receive a comment and/or message that has a video with a link that takes you to what looks like a friendster log-in page delete the comment and do not use the log-in link.
Someone has phished the account it came from and is trying to phish yours.
Using the log-in link will give them your log-in info and access to your account to do whatever they want.

To help prevent this. I'm asking everyone to repost this bullettin or send this message to all of your friends. With this we can have a much more better friendster experience.
Thanks to all.

Trojan Virus

I just want to share this again to all blogger friends. This already happened sometimes in March where bloggers were attacked with pop-ups with viruses. Last Wednesday, as I visited one blogger friend , my anti-virus program warned me that a certain script is running once I open her site.

My PC can't be immediately attack by viruses because I have an anti-virus program in it. I am using Symantec Norton Anti-virus which I believed based on experience is a good one. As I was running last Wednesday my anti-virus, 2 trojan horse were found and other 2 more viruses. I just forgot to make a screen shot on it!!

I am just giving a warning to all friends to be extra careful when visiting other sites especially sites with pop-ups and with some script running as this might be a treat to your PC.

guess this is all for today...take care everyone!!

Study: New computer threat is emerging

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (UPI) -- U.S. scientists say there might be another emerging treat to computing other than viruses and worms: malicious hardware could soon become a problem. Nearly all computer users are aware of viruses that can be downloaded either as an e-mail attachment or when someone visits a Web site.

But soon hackers could up the ante even further. Samuel King and colleagues at the University of Illinois have shown how hackers might gain control of a computer by adding malicious circuits to its processor. Because such circuits interfere with the computer at a deeper level than a virus, they effectively operate "below the radar" of antivirus software, said King. But the researchers said sneaking malicious hardware onto a chip isn't as easy as installing a virus.

The attackers must either have access to a chip during its design or manufacture, or be capable of manufacturing their own chips. "It's not something someone would carry out on weekends," said King. However, King told New Scientist magazine said some Apple iPods and Seagate hard drives were recently found to have been sold with viruses pre-installed, demonstrating their vulnerability.

How to beat spyware and viruses, 2008 edition

This is quite interesting to share about!! got it in yahoo tech news..bloggers were badly attacked by trojan virus last month, so I believed that these tips are very useful..done some of it last month..it really worked..

here it is!!

Wed Apr 2, 2008 11:46AM EDT

The last time I wrote a piece on how to remove spyware from your computer was in 2006. Time for an update, I think. Here's my perennial "How to Beat Spyware" howto, revised and updated for 2008 (and combined into a single file instead of two parts).

Here's what to do if you suspect an infection on your Windows PC. (Please note these steps apply to both Windows XP and Vista.)

1) Are you sure it's spyware or a virus? Windows pop-ups and alerts can often seem invasive enough to be viruses, especially with Vista. Try searching the web for the exact text you see on the screen to make sure you aren't dealing with an aggressive Windows message. (Many of these can be turned off, so try whatever instructions you find.) On the other hand, some viruses masquerade as Windows alerts, so tread lightly.

2) Boot in safe mode. If you have a virus, first step is to try booting in safe mode. You can get to safe mode (a simplified version of Windows that disables a lot of extra gunk, possibly including some spyware apps) by restarting your PC and tapping F8 during boot. Soon you'll get a menu of options. Select "Safe Mode" (it's at the top of the menu) and wait for the machine to fully boot. The system will look funny (with a black background and larger icons, probably), but don't worry about it. This is only temporary. (Also note that many spyware applications can disable safe mode, so if you find this doesn't work, just boot normally.)

3) Run your antivirus application. This is of course assuming you have an antivirus application. (Need one? Check here.) You're in safe mode now, so run a full scan of your PC at maximum security levels (include the option to scan within compressed files, for example). This will probably take an hour or more, so be patient. Fix any problems the virus scan turns up. Then reboot into safe mode again using the procedure in step 2.

4) Run one or two anti-spyware applications. I used to recommend running multiple anti-spyware apps, but virtually all antivirus apps now do a pretty good job at getting rid of spyware too, so you don't need an army of additional applications just for spyware. Also, I now recommend starting with AdAware (which is free) and moving on to Spyware Doctor (free as part of the Google Pack) if you feel you need additional help. (Please note that recent versions of Spyware Doctor and Norton Antivirus have some trouble with each other.) You can try other apps too, but the once-recommended SpyBot Search & Destroy is no longer very effective, sadly. (Neither is Microsoft's own Windows Defender.) Of course, fix anything and everything these apps find.

5) Reboot normally. (Not in safe mode.) Now take stock. Still got spyware? It's time to move along to my more advanced techniques for removing the nasties.

6) Run HijackThis. HijackThis is a free software tool that scans your computer to find malware that other apps might miss. Scroll down to "Official downloads" to download the tool. Next, simply open the ZIP file you downloaded, extract the application, and run the tool (you don't need to install it). Click the "Do a system scan and save a logfile" button. You'll receive a large text file as well as a dialog box which gives you a list of active software processes, which you can then choose to delete. Unfortunately, this list includes both helpful and unhelpful software, so don't just start deleting items. Continue in step 7 to figure out how to fix your spyware infection.

7) Post your log file online. Visit this page, which offers a list of forums staffed by volunteers who can help you interpret your HijackThis log. The SWI Forums are especially busy, but most of the forums on the list are equally apt. Go to SWI and visit the "Malware Removal" forum which has over 50,000 topics listed: Those are all people like you who are seeking help getting rid of spyware. Register for an account, read the FAQ, then visit that Malware Removal forum, and post a new topic. Paste the content of the text file you created in step 5 into this topic and (politely) ask for help. You will get a response from a volunteer helper, typically within 3 days. You'll be given specific advice on what entries to remove with the HijackThis tool, and you might be pointed to additional software to run to help remove common spyware infections. Follow all the instructions and keep working with the forum helpers until either you or they give up. (And no, don't send your log file to me or post it here. I am not nearly the spyware removal expert that these guys are.)

7a) Alternately: Paste your log file into an automated tool. Don't have three days? Try simply pasting your HijackThis log file into this form. It does a pretty good job at auto-analyzing what's wrong with your machine, with no waiting. As well, if that doesn't work, you can search for the items you find in the HijackThis log by name to see what they are and how to remove them, if they're spyware. This can be quite time consuming, though.

8) Try System Restore. If that doesn't work, you might try running Windows System Restore to roll back your OS to a time before the infection happened. This isn't foolproof: You might not have System Restore turned on, or the spyware might have shut System Restore off, as well. But it's worth a shot. With either XP or Vista, System Restore can be found under Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

9) Give up and wipe your hard drive. At this point, you've exhausted all the options I know of. You might try again at steps 6/7 to make sure you've done everything you can to salvage the PC. Forum helpers will often work with you for weeks to help fight a spyware infection, but there are tens of thousands of possible variants out there, with new ones cropping up every day. It's just not possible to clean them all, every time. Sometimes the only thing you can do is call it quits, reformat your hard drive, and reinstall your OS. Again, make sure you have your backups ready and verified. Once you're up and running, reinstall your antivirus and anti-spyware applications, and stay vigilant against infection. Good luck.

Pop-ups Finally Resolved!!Bloggers pls Read!! Important

Guess what happened since last Saturday till Sunday and I guess until now lot of blogs still have pop-ups!! here's some short list!!

I am just sharing this so you might be aware that when this happened to you, your computer will freeze because it was already attacked by viruses...so please check it out..let's just help each other!!..the scary thing is that you might lost your blogs in seconds where you put much hard work!!! The evil might even access your computer and email address which is really very scary and horrible!!!

1. As I opened the first time my computer last Saturday, I wonder it is not the same anymore. I lost some settings on it.
2. As I opened my blogger account, I was terribly shocked because it was redirected to a pop-up advertisements.
3. The screen was totally covered by pop-ups which made the processing very very slow. Sometimes the computer even got frozen and don't processed anymore.
4. As per infos and help of some other friends blogger twinks, Jojo,
and dashing smiles, I was able to resolved it.

Please do the following recommended steps, like what I also did to my blogs!!

1. Immediately remove your 3rd party widgets like feedjit, rankwidget and country counter or neocounter as the hacker hacked these sites so they can come to our blogs.
2. Run immediately your anti virus program to eliminate the so called Trojan virus like what had friend Twinks said.. I also have a Symantec Norton anti-virus..thanks God I found no viruses....I also have a Fire Fox browser which is proven to be one of the best browser.. I already run my anti-virus twice to make it sure. hopefully will run it again tomorrow.
3. also check your documents/computer settings, as I also lost some settings in my computer.
4. I also made a back-up of my my files coz I don't want to lose my blogs as I already made a lot of hard work for these..

For more info you can also visit the blogs of twinks, Jojo, , to give you more infos as I am also not a computer expert but I am happy that I was able to resolved it...I hope it's not coming again!!! Let's just help each other for a common purpose..

I just hope and pray that this so called hackers will realize how much hard work we made for our blogs..and they just let pop-ups there so they can earn money..

Please fellow bloggers do something now for your blogs before it is too late...

Sorry to say, I might not make visits as often anymore this week because of these pop-ups and viruses running thru bloggers...might probably bloghopping after a week...
